Elevator Pitch No. 2

One important piece of feedback I received was that it's not as comprehensive as other outside study resources. While I'm not saying StudyBuddy could replace them, I learned through my interviews that a big reason why people weren't currently using them was because their classes weren't offered. I also received feedback that it's too similar to Quizlet. However, although Quizlet offers flash cards, they can become outdated as different professors teach different semesters, and sometimes they come from the same class, but at a different university. Because of this, I made the change that StudyBuddy's subjects will be each course's code. For example, instead of "Finance" there will be resources for FIN4243 and FIN4504. This makes it so that those in introductory-level courses won't be bothered with more complicated material from upper-level courses and vice versa.

  1. Hey Hayley I'm not sure why but your video isn't loading (I've watched 3 other peoples' videos). Based off of what I read I like the idea that your study subjects will be for specific classes and are not broad covering everything when you really only need to go over certain things or for your class level.

  2. Hi Hayley,
I think this is a cool idea! I use the resources you listed, but UF doesn't offer tutoring services for every class and i definitely would rather depend on your idea than the internet. I do think the only thing you'd have to make sure is to differentiate yours from everything else that does already exist, but i think most students would agree that the more study/tutoring resources out there the better! 4. I believe your idea is a great idea! You are 100% right when you talk about a lot of the old material becomes outdated. This is a huge problem because many classes that i personally take are told to me by friends and family. Because honestly who doesn't want some easy classes with your main critical tracking courses. Anyways the idea i believe will work if you keep it updated semester like you said. I think you should check out my idea at http://michaelduellent.blogspot.com/

  5. I like your idea, and I like that you clarified your differentiation from Quizlet. I think that differentiation can make your concept more relatable to students. As for the pitch, I think it would have been better for you to put the camera down instead of hold it becuase the movement was slightly distracting. Don't be too nervous giving your speech, your concept is fantastic so be confident in it! :) I like the detail into explaining the program itself and how it would work. I hope you keep on working with it! feel free to check out my post! http://lovetravellives.blogspot.com/2016/02/elevator-pitch-no-2.html
